Natural Remedies For Yeast Infections - Programs To Regain Health (Part 1)

Natural Remedies For Yeast Infections

If this blog can give you just one thing, I hope it is the realization that:

You can overcome your health problems and get your life back on track!

Believing this simple statement is your crucial first step. Of course, you'll need help, including professionals and non-professionals. You'll need love and support from family members, friends, and support groups.

Natural Remedies For Yeast Infections

Make this your motto: "If it's going to be, it's up to me."

No one says this will be easy, but your life hasn't been easy up to this point. If your health problems are yeast-related, a sugar-free diet (and possibly a yeast-free diet) plus antifungal medication will start you on the road to recovery. You'll have to add in a large dose of patience. It may take months or even a year or more.

We'll go into this program in much greater detail later in the blog, but here are the bare bones of what you'll need to do to get well:

1. Clean Up Your Diet

Go to your kitchen and get rid of the sugar, corn syrup, white bread and other white-flour products, soft drinks and most ready-to-eat cereals. Foods and beverages containing these nutritionally deficient simple carbohydrates promote poor health and feed the candida yeast.

You'll also need to get rid of hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils and replace them with modest amounts of unrefined oils, including flaxseed, olive and coconut.

Avoid yeasty foods and beverages, especially dried fruits, mushrooms, alcoholic beverages, all leavened breads, bagels, pastries, pretzels, pizza and rolls. In two or three weeks, after you've gotten a bit better, you can gradually try these foods again and see if they bother you.

Replace these empty foods with more vegetables, healthy oils and some of the "grain alternatives," quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat. I'll tell you more about those later.

I know. This isn't easy, but it's not forever. After a few weeks or months, you may be able to relax a bit. Yet, you must stick to your diet until you show significant improvement. This is the essential component of your health plan. Without it, you won't get well.

2. Control Chemical Exposures

Almost without exception, people with yeast-related health problems are sensitive to the chemicals they encounter in everyday life. These include tobacco smoke, perfumes, colognes, glues, carpet and fabric odors, paints, formaldehyde, insecticides, diesel fumes and other traffic odors.

Although you can't avoid all of these, you can clean up your home. By getting rid of odorous bathroom and kitchen chemicals and insecticides, you can immediately lighten your load and your symptoms will start improving.

It's also a good idea to do what you can to clean up your workplace.

You may also react to chemicals in and on your food - even fresh foods, as well as those in cans, plastic wrap and other food containers. Where possible, buy and eat organic foods, and choose prepared foods in glass containers.

3. Lifestyle Changes

You'll need fresh air, sunlight, exercise and a proper amount of sleep. Don't be a couch potato spending endless hours in front of the TV or your computer screen. Take a walk. Do calisthenics. Play outdoor games. Move!

4. Support

You'll need emotional and psychological nutrients, whether you are sick or well. Here are a few of them:
  • Love
  • Encouragement
  • Praise
  • Touch
  • Hugs
  • Laughter
They'll strengthen your immune system and play an important role in your renewed health.

5. Nutritional Supplements

Everyone needs a good regimen of vitamins, minerals and other supplements. Be sure you get supplements that are yeast-free, sugar-free and color-free. Choose:

  • A good multivitamin with minerals like calcium, magnesium and zinc, plus antioxidants like vitamins C and E, along with digestive enzymes.
  • Essential fatty acids (EFAs), including flaxseed oil or ground flaxseeds, an excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acids and Omegfa-6 fatty acids such as evening primrose oil, borage and black currant seed oils.
