Candida Diet Food List - Maintenance

Candida Diet Food List

STEP 4: MAINTENANCE

Congratulations! Now you've really done your homework and you know what you can and cannot eat. No doubt, you are feeling vastly better than you felt just a few short weeks ago. Although this wasn't the primary purpose, you've likely dropped a few pounds, too. That's a welcome bonus for many of us! You've also made the anti-yeast diet a part of your life.

So you can loosen your grip from time to time. Eat a slice of birthday cake on your birthday. Sip a glass of red wine once a week or so. You may be able to get away with it, or you may not. Continue to monitor your progress and if you have a setback, look at what you ate and take corrective measures.

Your doctor may keep you on antifungal medications indefinitely or may discover that you need them from time to time if you slip off the anti-yeast diet.

Sadly, for most of my patients, simply eliminating the yeast overgrowth does not seem to "cure" the problem. It may be that the immure system is deeply affected, or it may be that you are particularly prone to imbalances in the digestive tract that promote yeast overgrowth.

Whatever the reason, it is usually necessary to remain on the maintenance diet indefinitely to maintain your newfound sense of well-being.

Every person is unique. In following the anti-candida diet, use a trial-and-error approach. Most of my patients with candida-related illnesses can follow a less-rigid diet as they improve, especially if they're following other measures to regain their health. You need to include nutritional supplements, exercise, stress reduction and avoid exposure to environmental chemicals and mold spores.
