Candida Diet Food List

SLOW-START CANDIDA ELIMINATION FOOD PLAN 

Modifying your diet to get healthy can be a challenge. Those who feel they can't immediately jump into the program and adhere to the "Foods to Eat" and "Foods to Avoid" lists can follow a slower candida elimination schedule.
 
It helps to understand that these dietary changes are not about deprivation - they are about eating foods that will help clear infection and inflammation and restore your health. If you slip up and eat something that's not on the plan, don't let guilt take over. When your emotions get in the way, you're more likely to continue eating foods that are not on the program.
 
Candida Diet Food List

Once you have successfully eliminated all the foods on the following lists, you are ready to begin your first month (Days 1-30) of the 90-day program to eliminate candida and detoxify your body.
 
Week One 

Eliminate dairy products (less dairy = less mucus and inflammation) 

Check off items as you eliminate them: 
  • Buttermilk
  • Cheese (soft and hard)
  • Cottage cheese 
  • Cow and goat milk (nonfat, low fat, low lactose) 
  • Goat cheese 
  • Ice cream 
  • Margarine 
  • Milk shakes 
  • Protein drinks, powders, or bars that contain dairy ingredients from cows 
  • Sour cream
  • Yogurt  
Week Two

Eliminate refined carbohydrates (fewer refined carbohydrates = less inflammation and greater weight loss)

Check off items as you eliminate them: 
  • Bagels
  • Breads with yeast (sourdough, white, buns, rolls)
  • Cereals (dry) 
  • Cookies 
  • Corn
  • Crackers (wheat and white flour)
  • Donuts 
  • Flour tortillas 
  • Pasta (brown rice and spelt pasta are permitted twice a week) 
  • Pastries 
  • Pizza 
  • Tapioca 
  • White rice 
  • Wheat products 
Week Three 

Eliminate sugar (less sugar = less pain and inflammation and greater weight loss) 

Check off items as you eliminate them: 
  • Agave nectar
  • Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, maltitol, mannitol, saccharin, sorbitol, Splenda)
  • Barley malt 
  • Brown rice syrup 
  • Brown sugar 
  • Cakes, candy, cereals, chewing gum and lozenges (except with xylitol), chocolate, cookies, donuts, ice cream, Jello and gelatins, pastries, pies, puddings, soda 
  • Corn syrup 
  • Dextrose 
  • Fruit-juice-sweetened products 
  • Fructose 
  • Honey (raw or processed) 
  • Maltodextrin 
  • Maple syrup 
  • Molasses 
  • Sucanat, evaporated cane juice crystals, raw turbinado sugar 
  • Sucralose 
  • White sugar 
Week Four
 
Eliminate miscellaneous foods (avoiding chemicals = less carcinogenic toxins) 

Check off items as you eliminate them:
  • Alcohol (even nonalcoholic beers because of their yeast content)
  • Cashews
  • Coffee (caffeinated and decaffeinated) 
  • Condiments (ketchup, relish, pickles, soy sauce, jams, jellies, etc.) 
  • Hydrogenated oils in any food product (chips, margarine, breads, etc.) 
  • Mushrooms 
  • Peanuts 
  • Peas 
  • Pistachios 
  • All fast foods (hamburgers with buns, fried foods, burritos, sandwiches, pizza, etc.) 
  • All fermented foods (miso, tempeh, soy sauce) 
  • All processed foods (TV dinners, bacon, beef jerky, bologna, pork sausage, etc.) 
  • All smoked, cured, dried, and pickled foods (bacon, bologna, smoked salmon) 
  • Soft drinks and sodas 
  • Cigarettes and recreational drugs 

Week Five
 
Eliminate fruits not on "Foods to Eat" list (less sugar = less inflammation and increased energy) 

Check off items as you eliminate them: 
  • All citrus fruits (except lemons and limes)
  • All dried fruits (cranberries, dates, figs, raisins, prunes, etc.)
  • All fruit juices (sweetened and unsweetened) 
  • All melons 
  • Apricots 
  • Bananas 
  • Cherries 
  • Guava 
  • Grapes 
  • Mangoes 
  • Nectarines 
  • Papayas 
  • Plums 
  • Peaches 
  • Pears 
  • Persimmons 
  • Pomegranates
